The purpose of the praise and worship ministry is to lead the people into the presence of God, preparing the hearts of the congregation to hear and receive the Word of God.  The ministry of praise and worship is not one of entertainment, but it is to assist the congregation in their worship of God.   Our Praise & Worship leader is Melissa Brett.

j0213486.gif (2832 bytes)Praise and Worship is not just singing, but an opportunity to show God just how much you love Him.  Every Christian should have a personal worship time with the Lord everyday, along with actively participating in corporate worship at the local church.  We encourage everyone to lift hands, dance and sing in the spirit, or bow at the altar.  The Worship team is not on the platform to perform, but to lead and encourage others in their own form of outward praise and worship.  Heaven is a loud, praising place, and we are just preparing ourselves for there.

Visitors ask us if we use music from Hosanna! or Hillsongs Australia or Vineyard, and the answer is "yes and no".  We use songs that encourage, inspire and help set the atmosphere to received from the Lord, be they songs from these sources, other music ministries, or original songs written by members of our own Worship Team.  No one should be locked into one music source, but stay open to various styles and sounds.  Praise and worship music tastes are not the same for everyone, but as long as it lines up with God's Word, it's good.

We also didn't start off with a full worship team.  When the church was first started in 1996, Pastor Diane Miller (associate pastor) led worship with CDs.  As the church grew, additional singers were added.  Then in 2000, the worship team shifted to instruments and singers and the CDs were packed away.  Now, we have a full complement of instruments, and a rotation of singers for our Sunday and Wednesday services.

There are some great resources available for those interested in praise and worship (which should be everyone).  Listen to Word-based praise and worship songs.  Attend a good Word-based Worship seminar.  Go to special worship services held at other churches or by special music ministers.

Our vision is for every person to experience a new level of worshipping our Living God through the music and the reverence shown to our Lord.  We expect great manifestations (healings, deliverances, etc.) to occur during the worship time.  For additional information or questions about the Praise and Worship team, or anything related to worship, please contact our Worship Leader, Melissa Brett, at mbrett@livingfaithchristiancenter.org.

God bless you and remember that Jesus is Lord!
